William V. Rickard

Saratoga Springs- It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William V. Rickard, who departed this world on September 9, 2025, in Troy, NY, at the age of 84.

Born on October 28, 1940, in Schenectady, NY, William was the beloved son of the late Virgil "Doc" and Viola (Oswald) Rickard. Known to many as "Bill," he graduated from Siena College with a degree in Economics and dedicated his professional life to the car dealership industry, where he was respected for his dedication and integrity.

Bill was a devoted husband to his late wife, Carolyn, until her untimely passing in 1986, and later to June (Jaros) Goddard-Rickard, his loving wife of the past 31 years.

He was a cherished father and stepfather to Charles "Chuck" (Michelle) Rickard, Suzanne Whalen, Tamara (Joe) Hitchcock, and Cheryl (Rich) Kenah. Bill was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

A devout Catholic, Bill found great comfort and community in his faith and was a longtime parishioner at St. Clement's Church in Saratoga Springs. He took pride in keeping his cars and yard immaculate, and he will be remembered for his warm smile, compassionate nature, and unwavering work ethic.

A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement's Church in Saratoga Springs. Inurnment will take place privately at a later date.
