Castleton-William Hulek, 90, of Castleton passed away Sunday September 10th at Barnwell Nursing home due to complications of dementia. He was born in Castleton to the late Stephen and Pauline Hulek. Husband to the late Marie Scott Hulek for 37 years. He was an Auto Rifleman and a Runner for the Sixth Marine Division in WWII in Guadalcanal, Okinawa and the battle of Sugar Loaf. Corporal Hulek received an honorable discharge and a Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a machinist for Anti-Corrosive, Watervliet Arsenal, and retired from NYS Health Labs. He is survived by his son Wayne (Denise) Hulek, his daughter Karen (Matthew) Brady, granddaughters Ashley Hulek and Marie Brady, predeceased by his grandson Sean Brady and his brother Michael Hulek. Relatives and friends may call at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave, Castleton on Friday September 15th from 2-4pm, funeral services will follow at the New Sacred Heart Cemetery on So Old Post Road, Castleton.
