Tracy A. Ellis

Castleton- Tracy A. Ellis passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 51.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 25, 1975, Tracy was the daughter of Dennis Cullen and the late Barbara (Halpin) Cullen. She earned her bachelor's degree from SUNY Oneonta and had made Castleton her home for the past 15 years.

Tracy dedicated much of her professional life to public service and political campaigns. She previously served on the staff of former New York State Senator Hugh Farley and, at the time of her passing, worked on the staff of New York State Senator Jim Tedisco. Much of Tracy's work centered around campaigning and constituent outreach. She spent countless hours traveling throughout the region, going door to door, meeting residents, and connecting with the communities she served. Her work allowed her to meet people from all walks of life and reflected her outgoing nature and willingness to be involved.

Outside of her professional life, Tracy was an avid runner. She participated in numerous races and marathons over the years, including the NYC Marathon, embracing both the challenge and accomplishment that came with the sport.

Tracy was predeceased by her mother, Barbara (Halpin) Cullen.

She is survived by her son, Kyle Ellis; her father, Dennis Cullen; her sisters, Carolyn (Keith) Quillen, Mary Cullen, and Liza (John) Basile; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Tracy's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Tpke. Rensselaer, NY 12144.
