Castleton-Sandra Mae (Seebeck) Salerno, born 1939, died July 28, 2017 in Castleton, NY near Albany. Sandy grew up on Long Island in Elmont, New York. She lived much of her life in North Babylon, NY where she worked later in life for American Movie Classics and the Bravo Channel. After retirement she traveled with her husband in an RV for several years. They moved to the Albany area in 2004. She has been a volunteer for the Underground Railroad History Project of the Capital Region, particularly the Stephen and Harriet Myers home in Arbor Hill.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years Mario Salerno, Jr., her 3 children and in-laws Beth Salerno and Tod Ramseyer (New Hampshire), Marc and Glenda Salerno (Castleton, NY), and Gina and Bill McLeer (New Jersey), as well as four grandchildren, Kylie and Adam Salerno and Will and Shane McLeer. In lieu of flowers, Sandy requested that donations be sent to the Underground Railroad History project at Undergroundrailroadhistory.org or the racial justice/world peace organization of your choice.
Calling hours will be at Ray Funeral Home 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY on Saturday August 12 from 1:30-2:30 and 5-7 pm with a service at the end of the hours..
