Sandra G. Garcia

West Sand Lake- Sandra G. Garcia, lovingly known as Sandy, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her devoted family. She was 83 years old.

Born in Albany, New York, on January 24, 1942, Sandy was the daughter of the late Earl Earing and Mildred Hall. She was a proud graduate of Columbia High School and spent her life rooted in the Capital Region, where she built a legacy of love, hard work, and family devotion.

Sandy was the beloved wife of the late Louis Garcia. She was employed for many years as the Supervisor of Housekeeping at Resurrection Rest Home in Castleton, NY

An active and social person, Sandy was a member of the Rensselaer Seniors and greatly enjoyed camping and traveling. Some of her favorite destinations included the Thousand Islands, Alaska, and Hawaii. She found joy in shuffleboard, dancing, and music, and she never missed an opportunity to enjoy time spent with those she loved most.

Above all else, Sandy devoted herself to her family. Her family was everything to her, and she took immense pride in each generation.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her husband, Louis Garcia; her grandson, Zachary (Heather Beeler) Garcia; her brother, Wayne (Kim) Garcia; her sister-in-law and dear friend, Gail Garcia; and her sister-in-law, Diane.

She is survived by her loving children, Roger (Kelly Hart) Garcia, Jeffrey (Jeannine) Garcia, Anthony (Patricia Gillespie) Garcia, David (Catherine Burdick) Garcia, and Anita (Ken Walker) Siddon; and her loving companion of 13 years, Bill Treadwell.

She is also survived by her brothers, Paul (late Diane) Earing and Donald (Peggy) Earing.

Sandy leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Amanda (Nick) DeNyse, Erica Garcia, Krista (Tom) Lupe, Conor Garcia, Michael (Marlene Camacho) Garcia, Megan (fiancé Travis Paul), Justin (Tamara) Garcia, Rebekah (fiancé TJ Mellon), Rebecca Gillespie, Jason Gillespie, Tammy (Scott) Southard, Trish (Jay) Van Kampen, Christina (Charles) Burdick, Sherri Stockler, Jessica (Adrian Hilstro), Katelyn (Chris) Tornio, Joshua Siddon, and Jeremy (Jessica Fredette) Siddon; and her former daughter-in-law, Stacey Wilkinson.

She is further survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her kindness and strength.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Sandy's family from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2025 at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave. Castleton, NY 12033. A funeral service will be held following the conclusion of the visitation period at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Horizon View Cemetery, Brookview Station Rd. Castleton, NY 12033.
