Ronald J. Papageorge

January 11, 1945 — July 20, 2025

Castleton- Ronald J. Papageorge, a devoted husband, proud Navy veteran, accomplished businessman, and gifted photographer, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, service, and love. He was 80 years old.

Born on January 11, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, Ronald was the beloved son of the late Geraldine (D'Agostino) and Sam Papageorge. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Navy, a period of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and resilience.

After returning home, Ronald pursued his education at City College, laying the groundwork for a successful and multifaceted career. He later became the president of Lifetime Motors in Southampton, New York, where he earned a reputation for excellence, specializing in BMWs and Subarus. Beyond the world of automobiles, Ronald nurtured a lifelong passion for photography, particularly architectural photography. His keen eye and artistic vision led to the publication of two books, created in collaboration with his devoted wife of 49 years, Toby T. (Trustman) Papageorge.

Ronald was an active member of Photographers East and remained committed to the arts throughout his life. Six years ago, Ronald and Toby relocated to Castleton, where they found not just a home, but a warm, welcoming community. Their time there was filled with joy, friendship, and fulfillment, what they often described as the best six years of their lives.

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife Toby; his sisters Pamela (Joseph) Severino and Eileen (Eric) Barat; his nephew Christopher (Lisa) Butcher; and his niece Lauren (Martin) Gigner. He also leaves behind two cherished great-nephews, Imogen and Callum Gigner. He was predeceased by his parents, Geraldine and Sam.

Ronald's memory will be cherished by all who knew him-for his kindness, his artistry, his unwavering integrity, and the deep love he held for his family and friends.
