Castleton- Paul W. Moore, Jr., born May 27, 1937, in Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 20, 2026.

Paul was a simple man in the best possible way. He was humble, hardworking, dependable, and the kind of person who would help anyone who needed him. He lived his faith, loved his family, and never needed much recognition for any of it.

Paul was one of those people who could fix almost anything. For years, he repaired appliances, and when something broke in town, chances were pretty good that someone was calling Paul. He was the guy you called when the washer stopped washing, the refrigerator stopped refrigerating, or something else decided it no longer wanted to cooperate.

He also had a special talent for never throwing anything away. Paul saved everything because, in his mind, you never knew when you might need that one little piece someday. And almost always, he was right. They truly don't make them like him anymore.

Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved telling stories, especially stories about his younger years and the memories he made growing up and spending time with his grandfather on the farm. He loved golfing, fishing, building things in his workshop and most of all, being surrounded by family.

He was the son of the late Paul W. Moore Sr. and Helen Moore, and grew up in a family with three siblings. He later raised his own family in Castleton, NY, on a small farm. He created a home filled with the people and memories that meant the most to him.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Moore; his son, Raymond "Tucker" Moore; and his granddaughter, Brittany Moore.

He is survived by his children, Joel (Kelly) Moore, Paula (Bill) Moore, and Stacey Moore; his grandchildren, Justina, Amber, Victoria, Marcus, and Lenah; and his great-grandchildren, Evan, Javier, Lailah, Natalya, Casper, Kailani, Lux, Michael, and Luca.

Paul leaves behind more than a family tree. He leaves behind stories that will be told again and again, things he repaired, things he saved, lessons he taught without ever sitting down to teach them, and memories that will outlive us all.

He was a child of God who lived his faith through the way he treated people with kindness, generosity, and a willingness to lend a hand.

Paul was one of a kind. A loyal friend. A hard worker. A storyteller. A fixer. A fisherman. A golfer. A farmer. And to those lucky enough to call him Dad or Poppy, he was so much more.

There will be no funeral service. His family will be holding a celebration of his life at the Castleton Ambulance Garage Hall, 1700 Brookview Rd. Castleton, NY 12033, on October 18, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Please join his loved ones as they gather to celebrate his life and the many memories that will be forever cherished.
