Gabrielsen, Patricia

Castleton-Patricia Gabrielsen of Castleton, died peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2016, at the age of 92. She was born in Oswego, to the late Caroline Rock and Michael Olski; and was the devoted wife of David G. Gabrielsen of Castleton.

Patricia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a lover of animals, but was very fond of her birds and her beloved cocker spaniels. She loved people and she touched everyone she met with her kindness and her generosity. Friends would say “if you need to find some joy, visit with Pat”; that’s the kind of person she was.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 63 years, include her daughter Susan Spaccarelli (Steven) of Altamont, and sons David M. Gabrielsen of Nashville, Tennessee and Robert (Deidre) Gabrielsen of Clayton, North Carolina; grandchildren Derek, Rachel, Andrew, Daniel, Lindsey, and Steven; and very special niece and dear friend, Karen Lucarelli of Mechanicville. Patricia was predeceased by her sisters, Jeanne Chrisey and Betty Van Alstyne.

The family would like to thank the staff at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing for the dignified care and compassion they gave to Patricia during her stay there.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 667 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush, NY 12061.
