Sandisfield, MA-Pamela Whelpley of Sandisfield, MA passed June 13, 2016 at home. Born December 2, 1947 in Albany, NY to Marion (Lasher) and Samuel Romanchak. Pamela attended Schodack Schools and graduated from Maple Hill in 1965. She retired in 1999 after holding a variety of positions with the SUNY system in Albany.

In additional to her husband Ron Whelpley, Pam is survived by her son John Michael (Susan) Karic and grandchildren Cameron, Colin and Sophia. Her stepdaughter, Tracy Whelpley, also held a special place in her heart, as did all the others that Pam adopted as her own. It would be impossible to list all of her close friends and extended family that Pam loved, cherished and kept close.

Pam lived with Parkinson’s for many years but she did not let it define her, limit her or in any way slow her down, She is remembered as a vital, energetic, outgoing spirit constantly on the go, involved in everything, never afraid to learn new skills or take on new projects.

A wake will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave, Castleton-On-Hudson, NY 12033.
