Castleton-Mildred “Millie” Earle of Castleton passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved daughters Donna and Joanne and her dear friend Helen Lachowicz on Friday August 30, 2013 at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Jennie Oliver and was predeceased by her sister, Jeanette Radliff and a nephew, Bruce Radliff. Millie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, spending her early years as a homemaker. She was later employed at Sterling Winthrop, Rensselaer as a receptionist for about 25 years. A lover of animals, she also had a special spot in her heart for family gatherings and camping trips, gardening, playing bingo and visiting casinos.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gaylon L. Earle; her daughters, Gale L. Clum, Donna M. Earle and Joanne L. Sperbeck; grandchildren, Dennis Sancomb, Jr. and Daniel Millard; her first cousin, Dorothy Rivers; and several nieces.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Riverside for giving Mildred such compassionate and dignified care. Many thanks to her hospice team over the past few weeks, Colleen, Sue, Darlene, Jen and Chaplin Andy and the many other volunteers. Also, a special thanks to Sister Dolores Marie and Sister Claire.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling hours from 5-7 pm Tuesday September 3, 2013 at Ray Funeral Home 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
