King, Maureen Kelly

Castleton-Our loving wife, mother and grandmother Maureen Kelly King of Castleton-on-Hudson, New York passed away on August 26, 2014 after complications from a heroic fight with Alzheimer's. Maureen was 81years old.

Maureen is survived by her husband Robert E King, and her four children, David R King of San Marino, CA, Stephen M King of Dallas, TX, Kathryn K Vieillard of North Haven, CT and Suzanne K Cirame of Medford, MA. She also had six grandchildren: Ryan King, Amanda Vieillard, Brianna King, Caitlin Cirame, Caroline Cirame and Megan King.

She was a graduate of Classical High School in Worcester, MA in 1950 and received her BA from Clark University Class of 1954 where she was a member of the Women's Honor Society, Pleiades. Maureen was a lifelong educator and teacher. Her teaching career spanned three decades and three different schools: Auburn Elementary School, Auburn, MA, Red Mill and Green Meadow in the East Greenbush School District in East Greenbush, NY.

Upon her retirement from teaching Maureen joined her husband Bob in the real estate business and sold houses side by side with him for fifteen years.

Maureen was also active in the League of Women voters as well as being a Democratic Committee member.

Maureen and her husband Bob have been faithful parishioners at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Castleton, NY, and their family wishes to extend their appreciation to their fellow parishioners for their support and prayers.

The Wake will be held at Ray's Funeral Home located at 59 Seaman Avenue, Castleton, NY 12033 on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5-8 PM and will be followed by her Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church located at 3 Catholic Way, Castleton, NY 12033.
