Strevell, Mary M.
Castleton-Mary M. Strevell, 52, of Castleton, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Wednesday August 22, 2012. Born in Hudson, she was the devoted daughter of Bernard Knott and the late Corrine Knott. Mary was a graduate of Maple Hill High School and also attended Hudson Valley Community College.
She was the founder and creator of Funplex Fun Park and Lickety Split Ice Cream in East Greenbush as well as numerous other businesses. Mary’s passion was to rescue and care for all animals. Her legacy and devotion will be continued.
Mary was the devoted wife of 30 years to Joseph Strevell and dedicated her life to nurturing others; the cherished mother of Nicole Strevell; loving sister to Polly Berlin and other family members.
Her funeral service will be 10 am Saturday August 25, 2012 at St. John’s Church, 159 County Road 26A, Stuyvesant, NY.
Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Friday August 24, 2012(TODAY) at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society, Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
