Cassidy, Lambert “Bert”

Schodack-Lambert “Bert” Cassidy, 73 of Schodack died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at his home after a long illness. Bert was born in Albany and had worked at Orange Motors and retired from NYS DOT in 2005.

Bert was a distinguished pistol shooter. He was a member and past president of the Castleton Fish & Game Club, a lifetime member and commissioner of the Schodack Valley Fire Company and a lifetime member of the Elks Club.

Predeceased by parents Lambert Cassidy, Sr. and Marie (Gable) Cassidy and first wife Marilyn (Haines) Cassidy, Bert is survived by wife Susan (Miller) Cassidy; daughter Susan (David) Oligny; son Brian (Nancy) Cassidy; daughter Sheila (Tom) Costa and son Cliff (Pat) Rockefeller. Bert is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Amanda , Larry. Nikki, Brian Jr., Thomas & Michael. Two sisters, Mary Kennedy and Jean Sterling.

Calling hours are 4-8 pm Thursday March 13, 2014 at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton. Funeral service will be held Friday March 14, 2014 at 10 am in the funeral home. .
