Belardo, Joseph J., Jr.

Castleton-Joseph John Belardo, Jr., 79, died peacefully surrounded by his family on June 7, 2016 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

He resided in Castleton, NY for the past 62 years. He retired from New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and also served honorably for 4 years in the U.S. Navy aboard the Destroyer USS Mansfield.

Joseph was born in Albany, NY January 18, 1937. He is predeceased by his father Joseph J. Belardo, Sr. and his mother Gina A. Belardo and twin brother Salvatore.

He is survived by his brother John J. Belardo, Sr. (Marie), nephews Joseph J. Belardo (Renee), John J. Belardo, Jr. (Martha), Vincent P. Belardo (Lydia), Nicholas A. Belardo, Sr. and niece Stephanie A. Fiebke (Née Belardo), 8 Great Nephews and 1 Great Niece.

Viewing will be held Friday June 10, 2016 at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton from 4-5 for family and 5-8 for friends. A Mass celebrating his life will be held Saturday June 11 2016, 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Castleton followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Old Post Rd., Castleton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Joseph’s favored charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
