Jennie C. Dimura

November 9, 1923 — November 28, 2021

Jennie C. DiMura, 98, of Castleton entered into eternal rest with our Lord Jesus Christ at home on November 28, 2021. Born in Patti, Sicily she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Catarina Nania. At seven years old, her family migrated to the city of Albany, New York. She attended the city of Albany school system where she learned to read and write in the English language. In the year 1959, Jennie moved to the town of Schodack where she resided with her late husband of 58 years, Joseph DiMura. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Castleton where she enjoyed worshiping and spending time with her beloved “parish family”. As a dedicated and exceptional homemaker, Jennie enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for gatherings, even taking the time to teach family members how to cook using her recipes so they could be passed down. One of her most enjoyable times was having her family together on Sunday’s to enjoy her delicious Italian cooking.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings Anna Biondo and Antoinette Stoliker. She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Jim) Garafalo; sons, Joseph (Jane) DiMura, Philip (the late Suzanne) DiMura, and Michael (Angela) DiMura. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass, 12:00PM on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton. Interment will follow in New Sacred Heart Cemetery, South Old Post Road, Castleton.
The family would like to thank Hospice for the loving care they gave to their mother.
Those who wish, may contribute to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton-On-Hudson, NY 12033.
