Shields, Jacquelin M.

Castleton-Jacquelin M. Shields, 85, a longtime resident of the community, passed with her family at her side on Wednesday April 25, 2018. Born in Oneonta, NY, she was the daughter of the late C.B. Murray Logan and Delphine Logan. She spent her younger years in Sidney, NY, graduating from Sidney High School where she met the love of her life, Donald A. Shields. They married and spent 50 wonderful years together before Don predeceased her in 2003. She was also predeceased by a brother, Donald Logan. Jackie received an Associates degree from Delhi College and after they moved to Castleton went to work for the Schodack School District. She was a leader in several community groups and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She cherished and was cherished by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Gary (Claudia) Shields, Sharon( James) Adams, Patty Carlucci and Penny Bartlett; her brother, Murray T. Logan; grandchildren Michael (Eileen) Shields, Christie (Jeffrey) Tooker, Christopher (Angela) Adams, Kelly Adams, Chantel (Shaun) Heller and Ian Bartlett; great grandchildren Blake and Mackenzie Tooker; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 11-1 Saturday April 28, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1583 Carney Rd., Castleton, NY. Her funeral service wil be at 1pm in the church. Burial will follow in Horizon View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, since Jackie was so charitable, you may contribute to the charity of your choice in memory of Jacquelin M. Shields.
