Saratoga Springs-On Christmas morning, Jane Jaros departed in the stillness of a new day peacefully, on her terms, with the grace and dignity that characterized her entire life.
Jane was born, November 4, 1916 in Schenectady, NY. In 1938 she married her only love, Henry Jaros, and together raised their family in Castleton-on-Hudson, NY until Henry’s death in 1984. Jane then joined her daughter, June, in Saratoga Springs, where she enjoyed the company and care of both June and son-in-law, William for the remainder of her days.
In life her most cherished role was that of homemaker and caregiver. Memories of a delicious pot of soup on the stove and a warm hand-knitted afghan on the couch will always remain precious to those fortunate enough to know her. Jane was also a member of the Wilton Heritage Society where she happily volunteered for many years.
Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was a gentle soul with a sunny sense of humor who brought balance and a smile to everything she did. Throughout her life and up to the very last she never complained, met each day with a song, and always asked about her grandchildren or when her chipmunk friends would be back to see her on the patio. All will miss her indomitable spirit.
Her beloved husband, Henry, and her dear youngest son, Kenneth, predeceased Jane. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law June and William Rickard of Saratoga Springs; Son Richard Jaros of Southington, CT.; grandchildren Tammy Goddard Hathaway (Tim) of Bismarck, ND, Cheri Kenah (Rich) of Wall, NJ, Rick Jaros of CT., and Thomas Jaros of VT. Great- grandsons Justus, Mason, Quinn, Kaiden and Eamonn and great granddaughter Alexa Grace.
Services will be held in, Castleton, at the convenience of the family
We are thankful to the Saratoga Hospice Staff for their care and compassion and to caregiver, Brenda Meyer, for her dedication and kindness.
