James J. Mahar passed away on August 2, 2015 surrounded by his loving family after losing his battle with cancer. James was the proud owner of Mahar's Public Bar in Albany NY for 24 years. He introduced the Capital Region to the world of beer and made a lasting impression on all those he met and shared his passion with. He leaves behind his wife Laurie Mahar, daughters, Jennifer (Christopher) Rice and Caitlin (Salvatore) Rizzo; son Devin Mahar and step sons Adam (Susan) and Baird (Danielle) Forma. He also leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren Zachary, Hannah and Sophia. There will be no wake or funeral services but a memorial Wednesday August 5th at the Hill Street Cafe at 7pm.
