Gerald R. Lilkas, Sr.

Castleton- Gerald R. Lilkas, Sr., 90, passed away at The Grand at Barnwell in Valatie, on March 3, 2025. Born on February 21, 1935, at Brady Hospital in Albany, to the late George W. Sr. and Blanche M. (Howe) Lilkas.

Gerald was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves, was employed by Montgomery Wards, and later by the United States Post Postal Service in Castleton, as a mail carrier before retiring after thirty years.

He was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Patricia A. (Corrigan) Lilkas and his brothers, George W. Jr., Wayne B., Rodney K. (Judy), and Richard Lilkas. He is survived by his children, Gerald Lilkas, Jr., Thomas (Jean) Lilkas, Jude (the late Roger) Goodall, Cindy Bevans and Debbie (the late Tiger) Brewer; his siblings, Nancy (John) Futerko, Wendy (Joseph) Jensis, and David (Sueli) Lilkas. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave. Castleton-On-Hudson, Friday, March 7, at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gerald's family prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Horizon View Cemetery, Castleton.
