Roth, Gale M.
Schodack-Gale M. Roth, 57, a wonderful woman, peacefully passed on Thursday October 30, 2014 at the Hospice Inn, St. Peter’s Hospital. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Gale was born April 10, 1957 in Albany, the daughter of Shirley (Dumar) and the late James Stockman.
She was a graduate of Maple Hill High School and the College of St. Rose, receiving her bachelors in biology and chemistry. After graduation, she was employed at Albany Medical Center Hospital and later at Sterling Winthrop Drug Company, Rensselaer, as a research biologist. She and a co-worker taught after school science to elementary school children.
Her passions were children, animals, camping in the Adirondacks, and gardening. She was a cub scout den leader, a girl scout leader, a boy scout troop committeeperson, and the proud mother of two eagle scouts.
She was a strong supporter of her daughter in basketball during CYO, middle school, high school, AAU, and college Division I play.
She is survived by her mother Shirley, her loving husband of 31 years Steven F. Roth, her two sons Robert (Jennifer) Roth, Daniel Roth and her daughter Katherine Roth. Other survivors include her sister Sandra and brother Steven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday November 4, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton, NY. Inurnment will follow in the Sacred Heart Columbarium. Calling hours will be 4-8 pm Monday November 3, 2014 at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY.
