Ray, Florence I.

Castleton-on-Hudson, NY-Florence I. Ray, 91, died on Friday April 14, 2017 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Florence and Joseph McCloskey and the sister of the late Joseph McCloskey, Jr. She was predeceased by her husband John J. Ray who died in 2008. Florence was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and the College of St. Rose.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Crawford (William) of Cambridge Springs, PA and sons John (Meg Benke) of Saratoga Springs, Vincent of Brisbane, Australia, Martin and Richard William of Castleton, James (Ann) of South Windsor, CT, Robert of New York City and Daniel of Castleton; and a sister-in-law, Helen Young of Wilmington, VT. Also she is survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass 10 am Thursday April 20, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton, NY. Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Ray Funeral Home 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton. Interment, New Sacred Heart Cemetery.
