b. January 20, 2015

Williams, Etheleen H.

Castleton-Etheleen Henson Williams, at rest January 20, 2015. Etheleen was born September 30, 1925 in Middletown, VA, the fourth and youngest child of Charles and Ethel Jackson Henson. She attended school in Middletown and upon graduation she moved to Winchester, VA where she met her future husband, Warren Preston Williams. They were married in Winchester in April 1946 upon his discharge from the US Navy. They moved to his hometown of Rome, NY where they built their first home and started their family. She was employed in several capacities at the Rome Memorial Hospital retiring from the Personnel Department in 1979. Warren retired the same year and they moved back to Virginia where they built their second home. The attraction of grandchildren lured them back north and they settled in Castleton, NY in 1983 where they enjoyed new and old friends and, of course, their grandchildren.

Etheleen enjoyed genealogy and researched her family tree back to colonial times. She was an approved member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and The National Society of Colonial Dames.

Etheleen was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her brother Charles Henson and sisters Isabelle Bywaters and Mildred O’Connor. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Thorpe and her grandchildren David and Rebecca Thorpe.

The family would like to give special thanks to Cindy and Rick Morgan for their love and support to Etheleen over the years.
