Castleton: On November 7th, 2013 Diane “Davis” Krug passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a courageous six year battle with cancer. Diane was born the day after Christmas, in 1951. She was raised in Castleton and graduated from Maple Hill High School. After high school she worked at Key Bank, where she moved up to be assistant manager, before leaving to raise her sons Andrew and Matthew. Diane Krug had been a Teacher’s Assistant in the Schodack Central School District for twenty years. She was also very active in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Diane was also an interim minister for six years at the old Brainard United Methodist Church. She was vice president of the United Methodist Women for the Albany District. When she wasn’t gardening, she enjoyed spending her summers on Sherman Lake at the “camp.” She is survived by her husband of 34 yrs, Ronald Krug, mother Grace Davis, her sons, Matthew and his wife Shanah, Andrew and his fiancee Janis. Granchildren: Eliana and Brody. Mother in-law Marion, Also survived by sister Debra Boyea , brother in-law Wes, nieces Sara and Jackie, sister in-law Karen, brother in-law Ken, niece Amanda and nephew Ben, and many other cousins and relatives. The family would like to thank the staff at Albany Medical Center and New York Oncology & Hematology for their compassionate care. A wake will be held at Ray Funeral home at 59 Seaman Avenue, Castleton, NY from 4-8pm on Monday November 11th, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Pauls United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. The family requests that any donations made in lieu of flowers be sent to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer or the Emmanuel Methodist Church of Bolton Landing.
