Deborah Dickson

Deborah Lynn (Ennis) Dickson, 68, of Castleton, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, in Albany.

Deborah, affectionately known as Debbie, was born in Albany on October 11, 1957, to the late Robert and Phyllis (Gietz) Ennis. She was raised in Castleton and attended Castleton schools before continuing her education at Westfield State College. She later earned her master's degree from The College of St. Rose. Debbie was previously married to Stephen Dickson, and together they shared one daughter, Caitlin.

Teaching was Debbie's life's passion and calling. She retired from the Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District, where she dedicated many years to educating students as a Special Education teacher and later as a Mathematics teacher. Debbie's commitment to her students and her profession left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A lifelong animal lover, Debbie found joy in caring for her rescue dogs, Lilly and Rufus. Known for her sense of style, she loved shopping and enjoyed discovering unique treasures at local estate sales, often alongside her companion, Joe Constantine.

Debbie is survived by her daughter, Caitlin Dickson Conway and her husband John; her sisters, Joann Daly and her husband John, and Terry DiPiano and her husband Walter; her brother, Robert Ennis and his wife Lisa; six nieces and nephews; six grandnieces and grandnephews; and close cousins and friends.

The family extends their gratitude to the nurses and staff at St. Peter's Hospice Inn for their compassionate care and support.

A funeral service will be held at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave. Castleton, on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 12:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Deborah's family prior to the service from 10am-12pm. Inurnment will immediately follow the service in Mountain View Cemetery, Castleton.
