Sweet, David W., Sr.

Schodack Landing-David W. Sweet, Sr., 58, known to all as “Scubby,” died suddenly on Saturday December 28, 2013. Born on September 20, 1955 to the late Alice and Albert Sweet, he is the beloved husband and best friend of Cheryl; loving and devoted father of David Jr. and Michelle; loving grandpa of Joshua, Meegan and Carter; brother of Mickie, Billy, Robin and Scott; predeceased by brothers Junie, Michael and sister Sharon; son-in-law of Andy; brother-in-law of Virginia, Donna, Gayle, Bruce and John; special friend of Nelson and Dexter and numerous others; godfather of Jennifer and Colleen; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Scubby also leaves behind everyone he has kept warm over the years and helped out whenever needed. Also all those who who enjoyed the pickles, jam, jerky and the home grown garden bounty. Scubby enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and his grand children and always had a “good” story to tell. He was a lifetime member of the Castleton Fire Company and a member of the Castleton Boat Club.
Calling hours will be 3:00-6:00 pm Thursday January 2, 2014 at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, NY. His funeral service will follow the calling hours at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
