Schodack-Charles August Schindler, 84, of Schodack, NY, died suddenly on December 2. Preceded in death by his wife, Jane. Survived by his two sons, Paul and David; brother, Edward; sister-in-law Pat Bourgeois, and three grandchildren Kristen, Kate, and Aaron. He was a devoted father, a loving grandfather, and a caring friend.

Charles was a humble man and was proud of all he owned and earned throughout his life. He loved gardening, building birdhouses, painting, reading, and simply enjoying time with his dog, Chloe. As a retired police chief, he was always passionate about police work and what was happening in his community.

Even though Charles is gone, he is forever in our thoughts. Charles touched many peoples’ lives and is dearly missed by his family and friends.

A funeral mass will be held on January 11 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Castleton, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the food bank at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. Albany, NY.
